On October 3, 2024, Noi Bai International Airport organized the opening ceremony for the training course “Initial Training for Responsible Officials of Airport Security at Airports in 2024.”
Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. To Tu Hung – Head of Security Department of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam, who is also the instructor for the course; Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung – Deputy General Director of Vietnam Airports Corporation – JSC; and especially, all Directors – the heads of the Aviation Security Management System of 21 airports under the Vietnam Airports Corporation – who are the students of this special training course.
In his opening speech, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung emphasized the importance of the course, affirming that it is a mandatory requirement according to the regulations of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). He also pointed out the urgent need for the course: “Directors and heads of security forces at airports must thoroughly understand current regulations, principles of handling and responding to situations occurring in their areas. Especially under conditions of different scales, characteristics, and geographical locations, each airport needs to be equipped with sufficient knowledge and skills to proactively respond.” Mr. Nguyen Duc Hung also thanked the Head of the Security Department of the Civil Aviation Authority of Vietnam for arranging time to conduct the training course and specially tasked the students to openly and honestly share situations at their units so that the training could include more case studies.
On behalf of the students participating in the training course, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Nam – Director of Dong Hoi Airport expressed his desire to gain in-depth knowledge about aviation security and enhance situation-handling skills tailored to the actual conditions of each airport.
The training course consists of a total of 48 periods according to the regulations in Circular 34/2022/TT-BGTVT, including both online and in-person learning components. The in-person learning takes place at Noi Bai International Airport, focusing on key topics such as: infrastructure, equipment, weapons, and supporting tools in ensuring aviation security; Aviation Security Program, Emergency Plans of airports; aviation security risk management; and orientation for aviation security work at the Vietnam Airports Corporation. Prior to this, the online learning components began on September 28.
Noi Bai Training Center - Noi Bai International Airport has been entrusted by the Vietnam Airports Corporation to organize the first round of the Initial Training for Responsible Officials in Aviation Security at Airports. This is also the first time the training course has been implemented for attendees who are Directors of airports – the heads of the aviation security management system at airports under the Vietnam Airports Corporation.
This training course is expected to contribute to enhancing the management capacity of aviation security, ensuring that the aviation security management system of the airports under the corporation complies with legal regulations and aligns with actual operations, thereby ensuring absolute safety for flight activities at airports nationwide.
