On the morning of July 17, 2026, Noi Bai International Airport successfully held its Conference to Review Operations for the First 6 Months and Deploy Key Directions and Tasks for the Last 6 Months of 2026.

The report presented at the conference showed that, despite complex fluctuations in the global situation, Noi Bai International Airport's operational performance in the first 6 months of the year recorded a spectacular breakthrough, with impressive double-digit growth across all key indicators. Specifically, the airport safely served more than 111,300 flights, up 11%; welcomed approximately 18.2 million passengers, up 10%; and transported more than 548,000 tons of cargo and parcels, up 20.9% compared to the same period in 2025. Revenue and profit targets also grew by 15.5% and 11.8% respectively. The airport's connectivity network continues to expand, with 71 airlines currently operating, connecting the capital to more than 90 domestic and international destinations.

During the first 6 months of the year, the airport ensured absolute safety in all flight operations, notably serving 113 special/VIP flights and 1,001 priority flights, contributing to the success of major events such as the 14th National Congress of the Party and the First Session of the 16th National Assembly.

A key highlight from the very start of the year was the launch of the Terminal T2 expansion project into operation. Beyond elevating the airport's modern infrastructure, the terminal space has also been infused with cultural touches rich in Vietnamese identity, through the image of the Thang Long dragon, craft village exhibition areas, and art performances, delivering an outstanding experience for passengers.

Another significant milestone worth noting is that Noi Bai International Airport has completed preparations and the handover of aviation security forces to the People's Police force. This process was carried out in a synchronized and compliant manner, ensuring absolute security and safety while not disrupting any of the airport's regular operations.

Moving toward a smart airport model, the airport has identified digital transformation and green transformation as key breakthrough priorities. This spirit was made concrete at the conference through highly practical presentations. A representative from the Noi Bai Terminal Operations Center presented on digital transformation, outlining solutions to optimize passenger check-in procedures as well as professional operational workflows. In parallel, the Environmental Technology and Engineering Department presented on green transformation, focusing on solutions for economical and efficient energy use, aiming to build a roadmap toward an internationally certified green airport.

Speaking at the conference, the Director of Noi Bai International Airport commended the efforts of all staff and employees, while clearly outlining key objectives for the road ahead. The Director called on the entire airport to resolve to exceed the assigned 2026 annual plan targets by 10%. In particular, the airport needs to concentrate all efforts on resolving bottlenecks and continuously improving service quality in order to achieve the Skytrax 4-star standard and aim for 5 stars in the coming years.

To promptly encourage and recognize dedicated efforts, the conference held an awards ceremony for collectives and individuals with outstanding achievements in the emulation movement during the first 6 months of 2026. In a warm atmosphere, the airport also set aside time to solemnly express deep gratitude to colleagues retiring or transferring to other positions – those who fully dedicated themselves to building a solid foundation for the shared home of Noi Bai.

At the same time, the airport officially launched a special emulation campaign themed "50 Years of Construction and Development." This serves as a great motivation to inspire enthusiasm among all employees, creating momentum to accelerate toward the milestone celebration of the airport's 50th founding anniversary (February 28, 1977 – February 28, 2027).

Closing out an effort-filled first 6 months, all of Noi Bai International Airport's breakthrough achievements remain closely tied to the close attention and guidance of the Airports Corporation of Vietnam. Steadfast in its goal to reach new heights, the airport continues to firmly advance in building a smart airport ecosystem, worthy of passengers' trust and its position as the capital's key international gateway.
